Pax Dei horses: everything Mainframe has revealed so far
Crafted saddles, three horse types, a Riding skill, extra inventory and horses that can't die. Here's what Mainframe has shared so far, with no release date yet.

On September 21, 2026, on the official Discord, Mainframe detailed how Pax Dei's horse system will work. There's no date yet: the team says it will share more as the release gets closer.
How you get a horse
You craft a saddle and use Grace to bring forth a horse bound to it. Then you name it and ride.
You can own several horses and ride the one that fits what you're doing.
Saddles, and even specific horses, will be tradable, including name, coat and age.

Three types of horse
Riding horse: the versatile one.
Pack horse: carries more.
Courser: built for speed and stamina.
Each horse varies in speed, stamina, Courage and cargo capacity.

Riding, cargo and combat
Riding is a skill: galloping levels it up, unlocks better saddles and improves your horse's speed and Courage, within its natural limits.
Extra inventory: the cargo stays with you when you dismount, dismiss the horse, change zones or log out. You can only switch horses when the saddle inventory is empty.
They can't be killed or lost for good: in combat, Panic can build up until the horse throws you and bolts. Once the danger has passed, you just call it back.
They age as you travel, but their performance doesn't gradually decline. When its lifetime runs out, a horse retires: it's still yours and still rideable, but it drops to basic speed, stamina and Courage and can no longer carry an inventory.
And they can swim.

Not in the first version: stables. The initial focus is horses, saddles, Riding, cargo, progression, aging, trading and combat behavior.
And the answers to R48 feedback
Food: refreshing a buff once it has 30% or less of its duration left works only for food, not potions. The official notes have been corrected.
Staves: their durability now matches two-handed weapons, and the team is still monitoring feedback.
Cleared Ground: a slightly smaller piece is being considered.
Chat: colors and formatting are under review. R48 Patch 1, on September 28, already made the channel colors easier to read.
